After graduating at Delft University of Technology in 2002, Cornelis de Haan MSc started his professional career in the field of sanitation and urban water in the city of The Hague as team leader Sewage. In this city he was responsible for twelve employees and he gained experience as a project manager for several large rehabilitation projects.

In 2006 Cornelis joined Royal HaskoningDHV, and has been working as a consultant in the field of sanitation and urban water. His main focus was on measurement campaigns and sewer management. He is a consultant with a drive for creating pragmatic and, where appropriate, innovative solutions.

Recently, Cornelis made a significant contribution to projects to develop sewer asset management in the Netherlands. Examples are the development of impact-driven indicators for the city of The Hague, guidelines for standard registration of sewer-related call data and assessment of rising mains.
